Nanna Wendelboe
ARTISTIC LEADER
Nanna Wendelboe received highest grades on her diploma exam from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2010, having studied with Jørgen “Misser” Jensen and Lee Morgan. She continued to the soloist’s class at the same school, studying with John Kruse, and gave her debut concert in April 2013. Since 2011, Nanna has been Associate Principal Clarinettist in Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, a position she won shortly before her diploma exam.
Nanna has received numerous scholarships during her studies, including the Van Hauen honorary scholarship. The scholarships were used to supplement her studies – in France with Michel Arrignon and Philippe Berrod, and in the USA with Yehuda Gilad. Nanna has participated in several masterclasses, including with Martin Fröst, Charles Niedich and Yehuda Gilad and has moreover played for two seasons in the prestigious European Union Youth Orchestra.
During her studies, Nanna was a substitute player in most of Denmark’s regional orchestras, and held a year-long contract in the Royal Danish Orchestra. She is an active chamber musician, and has appeared as soloist with the ARCO and Øresund chamber orchestras, as well as with the Lyngby-Taarbæk Symphony Orchestra.
